Want to work for an Award winning charity who support people with learning disabilities? We have a fantastic opportunity now open for a Front Line Manager to lead a team supporting four individuals move into their new homes.

These individuals have diagnoses of mild to moderate learning difficulties, autism, communication delay, health conditions and complex needs. They require their staff to be resilient, fun, understanding, hardworking, consistent, confident and caring. They require a wide range of support with personal care, managing medication and finances, supporting them to access the community, learn new skills , maintain relationships with family and friends, adapt current skills and live a life that makes sense to them

You will be Leading your team of fifteen Support Workers, encouraging and mentoring them, completing supervisions and appraisals and ensuring staff have all the training and resources they need.

The team strives always to keep our support fresh, new and genuinely person-centred, and you will be key to this.

Of course there will be the practical details such as overseeing the rota, completing risk assessments and support plans. You will be responsible for the service budget, and ensuring the home is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements as well as our internal processes.

You’ll develop constructive relationships with external professionals, social work teams, families, and the local community.

You’ll also have overall responsible for ensuring any staff vacancies are filled promptly, working with our supportive internal recruitment team.

It is also important to note: our successful Front Line Manager will also be part of the on call system so you will need to have a flexible approach.

MacIntyre is a national charity which supports over 1,200 people with a learning disability and/or autism.

We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone’s unique gifts, talents and contributions.

What we need from you

You will have experience of supporting vulnerable people, ideally those with a learning disability. You will have managed a team and if not already registered with CIW, register within 6 months of being appointed. Ideally you will have some knowledge of care legislation within Wales and the requirements of CIW.

You’ll be creative in your thinking and your approach both to staff and the people we support, able to inspire and motivate. Our Front Line Manager will also have the ability to empathise and work with families and help build their confidence in us right from the start.

Other qualities that makes a good Front Line Manager will be the ability to budget, work under their own initiative, be reliable and flexible as you may need to cover sickness etc at short notice.

You must be a driver with your own transport which is insured for business use, as you will travel regularly between Wrexham services , as well as to regular meetings, conferences and training.

Training and Development

At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.

But it doesn’t stop there – throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities – all free of charge.
