Do you have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care – Children & Young People or equivalent?

We are looking to recruit Qualified Care Practitioners who can build strong bonds of trust with young people. A key part of our young people’s development is their ability to form positive relationships with trustworthy adults, adults who view them as worthwhile, creative and loveable.

This is a great opportunity to continue your career in Residential Care, working as part of a friendly and professional team providing therapeutic care for children who have often experienced stressful or traumatic life events prior to coming into care.

Ael y Bryn is a solo home, caring for just one young person at a time. Our Care Practitioners build safe, therapeutic parenting relationships with our young people, and combine nurturing and affection along with clear behavioural expectations and routines.

As a Care Practitioner, you will support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring that they are safe, healthy and achieving their best possible outcomes. You will accompany the children to appointments and activities such as school or the cinema. You will complete relevant paperwork, manage the daily budget, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.
Your work will be rewarding and challenging in equal measure. We maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

You and your team will help your young person achieve their full potential, providing a programme of personal development focusing on trustworthy relationships, social skills, independence and community involvement.

Successful applicants will be given full training and support to be part of a therapeutic team around a vulnerable young person.
To be successful in this role you will be:

• Able to build positive and supportive relationships
• Committed to providing an excellent level of care for our young people
Thoughtful and empathetic.
