Social Worker – Childcare Disability Team Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council
Location: Neath Port Talbot
Llawn Amser

Permanent
Full time 37 hours per week
Neath Civic Centre, Neath, SA11 3QZ

It continues to be an exciting time in Children & Young People’s Services as we continue to embed outcomes focussed practice throughout the service, whilst making solid progress towards our aims of achieving quality, effectively managing risk, and supporting children, young people and their families’ to make a difference to their lives and improve their wellbeing so they have the best start in life.

We currently have an opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Childcare Disability Team to provide a service to disabled children and their families from the point of referral through to transition support and includes Children in Need of a Care and Support Plan, Looked After Children and Child Protection and Court work.

The Childcare Disability Team is well-established; we have a high level of team morale and staff turn-over remains low.  The team consists of experienced Social Workers, Practice Support Workers, Portage Workers and Administrative Support. The successful applicant will have access to established management structures, regular supervision (at a minimum of every 28 days), and access to training for ongoing learning and development opportunities. Neath Port Talbot Children’s Services has one of the lowest caseloads across Wales, allowing staff the capacity to provide a high quality support whilst also having a healthy work life balance.  We promote and encourage flexible working to ensure employees benefit from having a work/life balance; we will shortly be piloting a hybrid working policy and will be supporting staff to work both at home and in the office.

We can offer you a very competitive salary and generous terms and conditions including 24 days (pro-rata) annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years continuous service) plus 2 extra days at Christmas, pension scheme and sick pay scheme. We also have a Health and Well-being Group with a staff lottery and associated discounts.

If you think that you have the necessary experience and qualifications for this role, we would love to hear from you.
