Post No. SSCF0108 – Social Worker (Pathway Team)
This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people who are looked after, children who are on a Care Order and young people (16/17 years old) who are homeless, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. You will be based in one of the two Pathway Teams who support children and young people between the ages of 0-18.
The teams have the statutory responsibility of ensuring that children who are looked after have their needs met and that they are being supported in line with the corporate parenting strategy.
The Pathway Service is comprised of three Teams, including team managers, senior practitioners, social workers, young person’s advisors, social work assistants, contact worker and a family mediation worker. We work with children and young people up to the age of 25 and their families. We have a stable workforce, supervision is regular and the opportunities for career development and training are excellent. Our caseloads are comparatively low and internally we have access to a dedicated Mentoring and Consultation team, and access to support via a family support service. There are also a number of agencies operating locally who work with the young people and their families to improve their lives.
