Support Worker – Mid Powys Adferiad Recovery
Location: Powys
£10.25 basic plus unsocial hours enhancements per hour / Rhan Amser

Contract: Permanent, part time or full time available. 8 – 37.5 hours.
Salary: £10.25 p/h (08.00 – 20.00 Monday-Friday)
£12.90 p/h enhanced (20.00 – 08.00am Mon-Sunday)
£11.08 p/h weekends (08.00 – 20.00 Saturday & Sunday)
£13.63 p/h bank holidays
Based in: Mid-Powys (Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader)

We are currently looking to recruiting a compassionate support worker to aid our Supported Living project in Powys. Adferiad Recovery operates a domiciliary care service including domiciliary home care service, palliative care service and respite service for Carers.

About this job:

This service is delivered in people’s own homes within the local communities of Rhayader, Llandrindod Wells, and Builth Wells. This service supports individuals with a wide age range and variety of support needs – including physical disability, mental health, learning disability and frailty.

As a support worker you will be working 1:1 (occasionally 2:1) as part of a dedicated team to provide support with day to day living including support with personal care, medication, manual handling and social inclusion, while focusing on promoting the wellbeing, rights and independence of the individual.

Rosters are created and managed to ensure continuity of support staff for individuals while minimising travel and promote good work/life balance for support staff.

Role Responsibilities:

All Adferiad Support Workers will be given the qualifications, experience and competencies commensurate with the levels of care they are expected to provide and in accordance with the Social Services Wellbeing Act:

This includes supporting individuals if required with:

-All aspects of personal care

-Mobility and transfers – all staff are trained in accordance with the All-Wales Manual Handling Passport.

-Administration of prescribed oral medication – all staff must complete Agored Cymru accredited Medication Training

-Social Inclusion – accessing the local community and participating activities of their choice.

And:

Completion of detailed observations and reports in relation to individuals which can be shared with health professionals to ensure adequate care arrangements are in place from statutory/voluntary services to meet the individuals needs if continued care and ongoing support is required.

Maintaining records and statistics required to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service

Working to a rolling shift pattern – including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children.

Person criteria:

There are no specific qualifications needed to apply but there must be evidence of commitment to personal and career development relevant to the post, with all staff required to hold or complete an NVQ / QCF in Health & Social Care Level 2 as part of their employment.

To be considered for this post, you must have a full UK driving license as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle when needed.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate Adferiad Recovery’s values whilst carrying out their duties, preferably with previous experience of providing care and support services within individuals own homes or a hospital/ residential setting.

We would also consider other previous experience of working with vulnerable adults and / or children.
