Young Person's Advisor - Children & Young People Services

This role is to join:

The Fourteen Plus Team support young people aged 14 and over who are looked after by the Local Authority, young people who are homeless aged between 16 and 18 years, and all care leavers up to the age of 25 years. The Team's commitment to engagement is promoting the increasing involvement of young people not only in their own lives but in improving services for others.

All our staff have access to excellent training, including the opportunity to consider training to become Social Workers.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14-19, £28,624 - £31,067 per annum

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours
Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 5.00
Friday 8.30 - 4.30

According to service need, some flexibility in working patterns maybe needed.

Main Place of Work:

You will have access to office space in Barry and work across the Vale of Glamorgan, including the opportunity to work from home according to the needs of the service.

Description:
As a Young Person's Advisor, you will provide advice and support to young people between the ages of 16-25 who are leaving or have left care, which includes needs assessments, intervention, pathway planning and review, within the framework of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014

About you
You will need:

• Experience of working with children, young people and their families.


• Experience of working in a team.


• Experience of collating and evaluating information.


• Awareness and understanding of the issues in relation to children and young people with complexity of need.


• Knowledge of child development.
