About us
The Occupational Therapy and Sensory Impairment Specialist Assessment Team are based in Barry and carry out assessments in people's homes across the Vale of Glamorgan. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Social Care Officers and a Rehabilitation Officer for the Visually Impaired. The function of the team is to look at suitable equipment and adaptations to enable a person to remain living safely and independently in their home. We work closely with other teams within Social Services to help with planning of people's care when required.

Pay Details: Grade 9 - £** Insert salary value min - max

Hours of Work - ** hours

Working Pattern: *if f/t Monday to Friday / If p/t "To be agreed"

Main Place of Work: Canolfan Ty Jenner

The successful candidate will have a caseload of adults with complex needs requiring assessment for equipment and major adaptations. The role also includes supervision of staff in the team.

About you
You will need-

Current registration with the health professions council

A degree or diploma in occupational therapy

A minimum of three years postgraduate experience, at least two of which have been in social services.

Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the effects of illness and disability

And ability to work as a team player with well-developed skills in a social services setting

A working knowledge of and ability to apply legislation and local criteria

Evidence of continuing professional development ( CPD)

Consolidated and up to date skills in relation to manual handling assessment intervention and evaluation

Will be able to evidence assessment intervention and evaluation skills in occupational therapy

Have the ability to work with families in distress in a reliable tactful and sensitive way

Have a willingness to learn by reflecting on working practice
