About the Role
Accountable to: Director of Care
Reports to: Team Manager
As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist the Team Manager and Deputy Team Manager in the effective management of the service.
You will be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the organisation's aims and objectives and work alongside the management team to maintain and continuously improve the quality of the service.
The post holder will be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based care under the supervision and guidance of the Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager and Director of Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Team Manager and Deputy Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the service.
- Help lead, support and develop the staff team effectively.
- Provide support, supervision and training to colleagues where required.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of individualised care packages.
- Support the management of staff rotas to ensure the needs of the people we support and contractual requirements are met.
- Address issues relating to staff practice and conduct appropriately and professionally.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving the quality of care provided.
- Participate in the team's on-call rota as directed by the Team Manager.
- Promote evidence-based, person-centred care and positive outcomes for the people we support.

What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a minimum NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care and/or be working towards QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
- Have experience of working with people who have complex needs.
- Have the confidence and ability to support the Team Manager in leading and developing teams effectively.
- Be able to provide support, supervision and training to colleagues.
- Be committed to developing and promoting individualised care packages.
- Hold a full driving licence and be able to drive as required for the role.
- Be willing to participate in the team's on-call rota.
- Understand the principles of managing staff rotas to meet the needs of the people we support and contractual requirements.
- Have the confidence and ability to address issues relating to staff practice and conduct.
