About you
A little more information about the teams:
The Intake Team incorporates our front door, and completes a range of assessments, conducts section 47 enquiries and establishes whether longer term plans are needed for families. They also are involved in issuing court proceedings where needed, and get involved in private law work. Families will also be transferred to our family support teams if intervention is longer than 3 months This is a fast paced team where every day is different.
We have two Family Support Teams, where workers form longer term relationships with families to help them achieve what they want to. They help families in a purposeful way and manage risk confidently. These teams work with families on a long term plan, looking to utilise all parts of their networks to minimise risk to children and build resilience. They are involved in all aspects of work, including planning and review for children receiving care and support as well as those subject of a child protection plan, or until court proceedings conclude. Work in this team is about helping people work out what matters to them and then helping them achieve their goals.
Workers in the Vale of Glamorgan are able to be kind, consistent and focussed in their work with children, young people and families making a real difference to children and families when circumstances are challenging. Managers are readily available and staff wellbeing is a priority.
