What is the role?
Nestled in the heart of the community and just a short walk from local amenities, our residential care home is proud to be home to 40 vibrant residents, each with unique personalities and a wide range of support needs including dementia care. With a strong reputation for excellence and compassion, our mission is simple: put residents first in everything we do.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets. Lead the mealtime experience from start to finish: food ordering, storage, prep, cooking, serving, and kitchen clean-up. Champion kitchen safety, ensuring all practices follow food hygiene, infection control, and COSHH regulations. Bring joy through food – engage in meaningful conversations with residents while serving, turning meals into moments of connection. Support with care – help residents who need assistance at mealtimes with dignity and kindness.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
Experience working in food preparation in a professional kitchen or catering environment. A passion for providing excellent service and meals that nourish both body and spirit. A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
