Temporary unti the 31st August 2026
Grade 10 £45,091 to £49,282 per annum, pro rata, (plus market pay supplement of £3,000 per annum, pro rata - to be reviewed 31.03.2026) plus an enhanced rate of 30% for weekend working and double time for bank holidays, plus an AMHP allowance of £2,000 per annum, pro rata.
Location of post: Home based working / Neath Civic Centre Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.
What you will do • Provide emergency social work support and safeguarding interventions out of hours. • Undertake timely assessments, immediate safety planning and emergency placements where required. • Exercise AMHP duties under the Mental Health Act, coordinating with partner agencies and ensuring rights based practice. • Record clear decisions and hand over effectively to daytime services. What you will bring • A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Care Wales. • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status. • Up to date knowledge of legislation and good practice across adults and childrens social care. • Sound professional judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and solution focused under pressure.
