Following another positive CIW Inspection and in line with our Business Plan and growth strategy we are pleased to announce that we have a number of exciting new vacancies to join our growing staff team and be part of exciting and prosperous service at our Residential Family Centre, Ty Seren, situated in Bridgend, South Wales. Starting salary will be £25, 043.20 (Full-time equivalent which equates to £12.04 per hour) during the induction & training period but we expect the majority of staff to be on £26,000.00 (Full-time equivalent which equates to £12.50 per hour) within 8-12 weeks, plus additional allowances for night shift, stand-by, sleep-ins and bonus scheme. PfP provides residential support to families in circumstances where there are concerns about parents’ ability to care safely for their child(ren). We are currently recruiting Family Support Workers to provide high quality care and support to children and their families during their stay with us. Each family usually stays with us for a minimum of 14 weeks, during this time they have their own unique set of goals which we endeavor to help them achieve by providing support, advice and guidance during their stay. As a 24-hour Service, staff members are on site at all times to provide planned support and respond to any issues arising. The job role does not involve any adult personal care.
Our roles therefore all involve shift work, including days, nights and weekends, to cover these shifts we are recruiting a combination of full-time and part-time roles. Ordinarily our shifts are:- Dayshifts - 07:00 - 19:30 Nightshifts - 19:00 - 07:30 As a Family Support Worker, you would have an interesting and varied role working directly with children and their parents, this includes: Providing support and monitoring to families, guided by PfP’s Multi-Disciplinary Team, to enhance parental knowledge and skills in order to meet their children’s developing needs. Providing practical or emotional support, particularly when difficulties arise around parenting and the wellbeing of children. Support families to access Services in the community for example, going shopping, to the GP, or attending parents and child groups. We are recruiting Family Support Workers who hold a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or, who are willing to work towards the new qualification; City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Health & Social Care Children & Young People & Adults. Support is provided to team members to obtain their qualification. A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the UK of working with vulnerable adults and/or children OR a UK health and social care qualification with some relevant work experience.
