[Internal] Early Years Support Officer - Flying Start

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Flying Start Advisory Team for an Early Years Support Officer.
A key part of the role will be to provide focused and targeted support to the Flying Start childcare providers in Torfaen to improve the quality of their provision and practice, in order to secure the best possible outcomes for children. Alongside this role the successful officer will support the childcare sector with those children identified as having emerging or additional needs and will need support to enable them to access childcare.
One of the primary Welsh Government objectives for expanding Flying Start is to increase the provision of childcare services and of Welsh medium childcare places and settings. The role will promote and support Welsh medium in all Flying Start settings, regardless of their operating language of the service.
The successful candidate will also assist and support in the administration of processes for new and existing Flying Start childcare settings and children with additional needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person who has a level 3 or equivalent qualification in childcare as well as an NVQ level 4in Children's Care, Learning and Development or an NVQ level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children's Care Learning and Development or a Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification at Level 4. The successful candidate will have a practical knowledge and understanding of Flying Start, the Foundation Phase and other Early Years initiatives.
