Temporary contract to coincide with university holidaysWe are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Integrated Occupational Therapy Service as an Assistant. The Occupational Therapists work within an integrated team to support individuals to gain the advice, information and intervention they need to maintain their independence and skills. Working proactively with individuals and their families to promote their choices and wishes to achieve positive outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarise yourself with the role of an Occupational Therapist, putting your theory into practice and dealing with the less complex but equally valuable referrals into the service.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated, enthusiastic individual with some experience of working with adults with disabilities, either on clinical placements while studying in university to become an Occupational Therapist or a work environment. They should have excellent communication skills and be willing to learn and develop assessment and risk management skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a large team is a key factor. A knowledge of equipment and adaptations will be beneficial. The ability to travel around Torfaen in your own car is essential.
