Lead Facilitator

Job Purpose

The Lead Facilitator is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) as the Person in Charge (PIC) of the setting and plays a critical leadership role in day-to-day running of the setting.
The Lead Facilitator is responsible for:
● Planning and delivering high-quality, nature-based activities.
● Managing and supporting staff.
● Maintaining clear communication with the Running Group and families, keeping them
informed of their child’s development and experiences.
● Assisting Running Group in upholding compliance with CIW and relevant legislation
and internal policies.
● Conducting and reviewing risk assessments, maintaining a safe environment.
● Maintaining accurate records on children’s attendance, development, and well-being.
● Preparing for and supporting inspections and evaluations by regulatory bodies.

Essential Requirements
● Minimum 2 years’ experience in a registered day care setting.
● Level 3 qualification in childcare (recognized by the CIW).
● Enhanced DBS disclosure check (or willingness to obtain one).
● Mentally and physically capable of caring for children in an outdoor setting.
● Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
● Sound understanding of safeguarding, child development, and health & safety.

Desirable Attributes
● Forest School Training
● Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
● Paediatric First Aid certificate.
● Welsh language skills (preferred but not essential).
