About the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff's Independent Living Services Team (ILS) Community Resource Team (CRT) as a Training Officer, qualified as an Occupational Therapist or equivalent profession with demonstrated experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for training and support in relation to systems as well as Smart House tours, reconditioning and manual handling training, training guides, forms and documentation of up-to-date specifications and criteria.
As part of the Community Resource Team, where appropriate, train staff to carry out need assessments and agree outcomes with service users and carers.
Provide training to Carers in relation to the provision of the reabled model of care.
What We Are Looking For From YouYou must be a dynamic individual who is passionate about promoting independence.
The successful candidate must be able to work to tight deadlines and be very flexible. You have to be able to work on your own and as part of a team.
You will have great communication and organisational skills and the ability to solve problems and offer results-oriented interventions.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
Additional informationWith effect from 1st April 2024, this post attracts a market supplement of £3,000 (full time equivalent). This payment is reviewed on a 12 monthly basis.

It is essential that you have experience of working proactively with clients with physical disabilities and/or older people, hold a full valid driving licence and have use of a vehicle with business insurance.
