Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Senior Practitioner to join our Adult Services. Step into a leadership role where you'll guide a dedicated team, helping to shape the future of adult care and services in our community.
About the Role
As a Senior Practitioner in the Adult Services, you will be at the forefront of delivering essential social care services to vulnerable adults across Blaenau Gwent. Your role will be pivotal in safeguarding their rights, ensuring their views and choices are respected, and working collaboratively with key partners to achieve the best outcomes. This is an opportunity to lead by example, offering guidance, supervision, and support to your colleagues, while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality care to the individuals we serve.
In this role, you will supervise and lead a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring that work is effectively allocated and that team members receive the mentoring and supervision needed to develop their skills and enhance performance. You will act as a representative for the Adults Services Department at local and regional meetings, conferences, and training events, playing a key role in implementing policies and contributing to service development.
About You
You are a passionate, motivated, and experienced social work practitioner who thrives on making a difference. You hold a recognised social work qualification and are registered with Social Care Wales. In addition, you have significant post-qualifying experience in statutory adult care, demonstrating a track record of delivering high-quality services in a challenging environment.
You possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to inspire and develop your team, while managing your own workload and priorities effectively. Your ability to advocate on behalf of vulnerable adults is matched by your commitment to ensuring that their voices are heard, respected, and acted upon.
