About the rolePay Details: Grade 9 (£41,771-46,142)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday- Friday 8.30-17.00
Main Place of Work: The Docks Office & Ty Jenner Barry.
Temporary Reason: 18 month post. Post is to focus on development of the care home strategy.
Description:The Service Development Officer will be based within Resource Management & Safeguarding division (RMS) within the Social Services directorate and report to the Head of RMS. The focus of the role will be to develop the Vale of Glamorgan's Care Home's strategy and be a key member of the project board that will be focusing on this project. This is a key strategic review for the Council.
The Population Needs Assessment, Market Stability Report and Annual Market Stability Assessment, all highlight that the need for Residential and Nursing care will continue to rise due to the significant increase in citizens aged over 85, in particular the significant increase in the number of those citizens living with dementia.
This programme will enable the Council to develop sustainable accommodation solutions for the ageing population of the Vale of Glamorgan by investigating and making recommendations of solutions that:

About youYou will need:
- A recognised Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health & social care e.g Social Work i.e. Degree, DipSW, CQSW etc. Occupational Therapy degree/diploma
- To have experience of delivering statutory health or social care
- To be an organised individual who has the ability to work independently and bring partners together whilst having the aptitude to collate, interrogate and analyse data.
