Working within Adult Services in a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team offers practitioners diverse, fast paced and interesting work as you would expect in a capital city. The Links Centre is situated in the heart of a multi-cultural community and is a large, dynamic team dealing with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, their carers and families.
About the jobThis is a permanent position in a part-time post of 18.5 hours per week.
You will need to have a Degree in Social Work or equivalent. A comprehensive understanding of the relevant legislation is essential along with experience of working with people with mental health difficulties. Previous experience of working within a mental health setting is also preferable and you should have experience of supervision of staff. Ideally you will be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for which an AMHP payment is applicable or be willing to undertake training for the AMHP role as part of your continuing professional development.

•You will be a qualified and experienced Social Worker and be registered with Social Care Wales
•You will have a sound knowledge of the legislative framework in operation
•You will be confident at assessing the needs of citizens and their carers and be familiar with the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010
•You will be confident in undertaking risk assessments and development of associated care plans and risk management plans.
•You will be able to practice from a strength based perspective
•You will be committed to undertaking training to assist with your professional development and to the supervision process
•You will want to work in the capital city of Wales in services where we support each other and work together with other colleagues, professionals and organisations.
•A full valid driving licence and the use of a car during working hours are required for which an appropriate allowance will be paid.
•The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
Additional informationThis post includes a £3000 market supplement pro rata in addition to the listed salary and an AMHP allowance of £2800 pro rata where applicable.
This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week.
