Role: Support Worker

Location: Presteigne

Hours: Full Time (Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins)

Salary: £12.74 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 45p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role you’ll be supporting 2 males with our 24-hour supported living service here in Presteigne.
You’ll encourage them to make their own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend their money or where to go on holiday.
You’ll enable them to be able to fulfil those choices, including structured activities to develop their confidence and skills. They are both very independent and love to get involved with so many activities such as walking, paddleboarding, photography, voluntary work to name but a few. A big part of what you’ll be doing is pickups and drop offs to such activities supporting them help them to achieve their maximum potential and just have fun. From time to time, you’ll be asked to work across other local Cartrefi Cymru services, so we are looking for someone who is happy to work flexibly to meet the needs of our services across the area.


Who we are looking for:

No experience required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

- have patience and empathy
- can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
- have strong communication and teamwork skills
- are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
- have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
- have a full driving licence - essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities.
- have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 45p per mile to cover this.
