Job title: Young Persons Worker Salary: £24,309.07 per annum (£19,710 per annum pro-rata) Location: Rhyl (Travel across North Wales required) Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2026, Part-time – 30 hours per week

About the Role The Blues programme is a vital part of our work. 1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of depression in young people using an early intervention model.
The Blues Programme, Supports teenagers with their mental health and wellbeing. The Blues Programme is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-influenced targeted intervention providing practical and emotional tools and strategies that build resilience
Bouncing Back is derived from The Blues, a targeted CBT evidence-based programme designed for children and young people, which combines coping skills to build resilience and reduce depressive/anxiety indicators. Bouncing Back is a lower-level, early intervention, resilience building programme for young people, Key Stage 2 and upwards.
Bouncing Back Extra, builds on Bouncing Back by incorporating evidence-based skills from The Decider programme, where young people are taught 12 DBT/CBT skills in a highly original and innovative way, e.g., didactic presentation, demonstrations, music, props and visuals. Delivery of all three programmes will be face - face in schools across North Wales therefore you will be required to travel. Mileage will be paid.
How you’ll create brighter futures We are looking for a motivated Young Person's Worker who is committed to supporting young people's mental health to deliver this service across North Wales. You will do this by: • Supporting the delivery of face - face group work to a targeted amount of young people throughout this academic year as a team. • Supporting the delivery of the six-week rolling Blues programme, as well as the Bouncing Back programme. • Establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with children, young people, families, colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies. • Giving young people skills to manage their own emotional wellbeing • Working in partnership with schools and colleges.
Let’s talk about you • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in youth work, working with families, childcare or other relevant field. • Ability to communicate in the medium of Welsh (desirable but not essential) • All Young People Workers will be trained to undertake the Blues evidenced based CBT programme prior to delivery. • Experience of working directly with children and young people. • Confidence in delivering programmes and activities to groups and classes of children and young people. • A commitment to supporting young people's mental health.
